BIO

Brianna Cope is a professional surfer from the beautiful island of Kauai. She was born and raised on the South Shore of Kauai. Growing up near the ocean, Brianna fell in love with its beauty and power. She started surfing at the age of 4, taught by her dad and older sister Gabrielle. Brianna fell in love with the ocean, addicted to how free and alive it made her feel! She started competing at the age of 10, winning her first surf competition when she was 11 years old. Ever since then, she knew she wanted to be a professional surfer.

Brianna is currently competing on the World Surf League qualifying series. She travels
across the globe for competitions in hopes to fulfill her dream of being on the World Tour.
Surfing is a place for her to feel free and be herself. After being born with a birth defect and having a deformed left hand, surfing has given her a place to express herself and feel whole.

Outside of surfing Cope loves fitness. Whether it’s weight lifting, boxing, running, yoga or
biking, she enjoys the mental and physical aspects of training. Outside of the gym and the ocean, cooking is another thing Brianna enjoys doing! Growing up, she would watch her
grandma cook and took on the tradition. Feeding her family home cooked meals is something very special to her.

Brianna has a documentary called Surfing to Cope, which shares her story and how she was able to overcome obstacles through surfing.
